John was a true teacher in every sense of the word. He was awarded Professor Emeritus for his teaching achievement as Professor of Mathematics at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. They meant so much to him, as he was forever reminding others of heartfelt stories of them.

Besides being a teacher, John was well known as a musician. The Lord gifted him with writing Gospel music in 2001 and went on to have his music performed, recorded, and well received by many.

John is survived by his loving wife of over 25 years, Lucy (Berube)Elliott of St. John, Maine. He leaves behind many beloved family members including his children; John G. Elliott and his wife Katrina Walls of Ecuador, and Elizabeth (Elliott) Martin and her husband Bill Martin of Cross Lake, Maine.
