Obituary

Madawaska---John A. Hunter, 94, husband of Pauline B. Allen died December 26, 2016 at his home. He was born in Ormstown, Quebec, Canada, the son of Dr. William A. Hunter and Annie Hughes Hunter. He graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass and was a dairy farmer for many years in North Fryeburg, Maine. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Polly; his twin daughters, Kathren (Kate) Albert of Madawaska, Christine (Chris) Murphy and her husband Allen of Nashville Plantation; his daughter, Heidi Lee and her husband George of Topsfield, MA; seven grandchildren, Jill Murphy Piker, Amy Murphy Vintinner, Anthony Albert, Denna Albert Parks, Ben Albert, Elizabeth Lee, and Carolyn Lee Champlain; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Billy and Hugh; his sister, Annette Irwin; son-in-law, John E. Albert. A Celebration of Life will take place 1pm on January 2, 2017 at Jalko Farm in Kate's Quilting Room. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Madawaska Meals on Wheels Program or the Madawaska Public Library. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in Harrison, Maine. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
