Van Buren---John Madore, 88, passed away November 2, 2014 at a Van Buren health care facility. He was born in Van Buren on June 26, 1926, son of the late Edward and Cecile (Lurette) Madore. John was a World War II Veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #49 of Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Adeline (Soucy) Madore of Van Buren; six daughters, Barbara Parent and her husband Gerard of Van Buren, Karen Parent and her husband Raphael of St. Anne, New Brunswick, Geri Kuczynski and her husband John, Sr., Derry, NH, Della Powderly and her husband H. Evan of Pawling, NY, Donna Picard and her husband Michael of Millinocket, Debra Sirois and her husband Gary of Yarmouth; four sons, Richard Madore and his wife Ann Marie of Hampden, Michael G. Madore, Sr. and his wife Ginette of Bristol, CT, Jimmy Don Madore of Van Buren, Gary J. Madore and his wife Mary Jeanne of Calais; 25 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Madore and his wife Marcella of Coventry, CT. John was predeceased by his first wife, Fernande J. (Thibodeau) Madore; one son, Gerald Madore; one grand-daughter, Carrie Madore; two sisters, Geraldine and Lorraine; one brother, Norman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, November 7, 2014, at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Family and friends may call Friday morning, 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Interment will be held immediately following the service in the Parish cemetery.
