Obituary

Fort Kent--- John C. Ouellette, 71, passed peacefully Monday, January 9, 2023, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born April 16, 1951 in Eagle Lake, a son of the late Conrad and Odile (Paradis) Ouellette.

After receiving his high school diploma, John was drafted into the US Army during Vietnam. After serving honorably in Korea during the conflict, he received his honorable discharge and returned to his beloved hometown of Fort Kent, where he was a lifetime member of the VFW, Fort Kent. He married his beloved wife, Rose in 1974. John worked at the Pinkham Mill as a heavy equipment operator for many years. A Maine Master Guide, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping, and loved to guide many teams into the woods for many different species.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Rose (Labonte) Ouellette of Fort Kent; two daughters, Nicole Theriault and her husband Clarence "Boonie" Jr of Fort Kent and Jennifer Nadeau and her husband Jason of St. John; two sisters, Joyce Paradis and her husband Roger of Madawaska, and Jacqueline Beauregard and her husband Julien of St. Basil, NB, Canada; five grandchildren, Lucas, Shelby, Simon, Cody, and Rebekah; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by two brothers, Joel and Jerry Ouellette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent.  Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to: St. Louis Church, 26 E. Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.   Arrangements are a service of Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
