Ashland--- John W. Savary, 82, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 3, 2015, at his home. He was born May 7, 1933 in Quincy, MA, son of the late William and Gladys (Lister) Savary Sr., graduated from Ashland Community High School, and Wentworth Institute, Boston, MA.

John enlisted with the US Army during the Korean War, serving stateside for several years. Upon returning to Ashland, he went to work as a mechanic and auto body technician with his father at Ashland Motors. He was a Deacon with Union Congregational Church for many years and a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion and AmVets.

He is survived by: three brothers, William K. Savary Jr. of Lakeland, FL, Charles Savary and his wife Roberta, and Gary Savary, all of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Union Congregational Church, Sheridan Rd., Ashland. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 10AM until the time of service at the church. Spring interment will be in the Ashland Municipal Cemetery, Ashland.
