Van Buren--- Joseph M. D'Alessandris, Sr., 83, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at a Caribou hospital, following a brief illness. He was born June 10, 1936 in Cranford, NJ, a son of the late Marcello "Michael" Dalesandris and Mary Jonas
He enlisted with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he resettled in New Jersey with his loving first wife, Jeanne, where he was a master plumber for many years. He enjoyed horse racing, having owned and raced several horses over the years, and liked to settle down at the end of the day with a quiet game of Solitare.
He is survived by: his second wife, Annette (Martin) Archer-D'Alessandris, formerly of Van Buren; one son, Joseph D'Alessandris Jr. of Caribou; several siblings and family members, Robert and Frank Dalesandris, Jean McKinney, Anne Marie Rapuano and Barbara Williams; one granddaughter, Emma D'Alessandris; a special niece and Goddaughter, Ann Ella Darby; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne D'Alessandris, and several family members, Giuseppe and Anna D'Alessandris, Martha Montini, Linda Ragonese, Jean Darby, Tella Tagliaferro, Josephine Tirone, Theresa Klein and Michael Dalesandris.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Lombard Road, Caribou. Arrangements a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, ME.
