Obituary

Madawaska— Joseph "Joel" Michaud, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 29, 2020, after a short illness, with his family by his side. He will be dearly missed by his family, who celebrates that he is at peace in heaven. His final days were peaceful with the tender care of his Ridgewood Estate family. He was a graduate of Madawaska High School, an Air Force veteran, and a long-time member of the American Legion. He was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Joel was born to the late Eugene and Yvonne (Michaud) Michaud. He is survived by one son, Michael Michaud of Madawaska; his brother, Ronald Michaud and his wife Norma of Long Lake; his Special nephew, Kassey Michaud and his wife Heidi, and great nephew Lucas all of Long Lake; special niece, Dena Michaud Lamontagne of Long Lake, and great niece, Kaitlyn Lamontagne of North Berwick, Maine; his sister, Joan Michaud Cyr of Madawaska; Niece, Jean-Anne Cyr Nugent of New-Jersey; Nephew, Paul Cyr of Virginia; Nieces Joyce Brown Chandler of Virginia, Brenda Brown Parent of South Carolina, and Maddie Burnside of North Carolina; Nephews Shawn Michaud of Germany and Peter Michaud of Maine. He was predeceased by his brother, Herman Michaud; Sisters, Viola Michaud Burnside, and Gladys Michaud Brown. Those who wish to donate in his memory, can make it to Ridgewood Estates activity department, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, ME 04756. There will be a private ceremony in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska.
