On 3/23/2023 at 4:30pm the most loving, strong willed, hardworking, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend left us to be at peace in his forever home. The epitome of Joseph's life was home. While this means many things to many, Joe was always at home on the hill in Wallagrass where he was born and raised and spent the best parts of his life. He spent his career in the Ashland Mills supporting his family, his routines and was proud and protective of his home and his humble belongings. He valued his time hunting and fishing with his son Steve, extended family and friends, which is now passed along to future generations. Even if they did not succeed in their sport, he always enjoyed a good nap in the woods. When Joe was not napping, he was building glider swings and playing cards or board games with the family which was a nightly event for him. He loved TV, especially wrestling shows, and had so much fun teasing his grand kids. Joseph felt a real loyalty and belonging in the Knights of Columbus. This was a place where he devoted himself to every member who passed or every event that was had. He never wanted to miss a thing. Joseph valued his independence and his traditional jokes that never got old despite his age. If you were ever proud about a new purchase he would always congratulate you on your "brand new second hand" whatever it was. He would laugh uncontrollably every time. This was Joseph in his happy place at home. May we all find our home in life like Joseph did and value it to the same extent. Home is where the heart is, where memories are made and what Joe cherished. Joseph is survived by wife Rita Saucier, son Steve Saucier, daughter Kristen Hoglund, their spouses and his 5 grandchildren. Siblings: Silvio Saucier, Doris Nadeau, George Emile Saucier and many nieces, nephews, friends, family and care giver Papi Kahinda. Viewing at Lajoie-Daigle funeral home in Fort Kent 14 E Main St 6-8pm Tuesday 3/28 and Wednesday 3/29 at 8:00-915am. Service at St. Joseph's in Soldier Pond at 10am on 3/29.
