Van Buren--- Joyce C. Hall, 83, passed away peacefully July 21, 2026, following a short illness. She was born July 8, 1943 in Nashua, NH, a daughter of the late William and Priscilla (Creighton) Ayotte.

Joyce was a nurse’s aide for several years and was a homecare worker for area residents. She loved her family and was delighted as her family expanded to include grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce enjoyed BINGO and attended games at the Knights of Columbus, Van Buren. She was also an avid crafter and rarely had idle hands. She also liked to visit the local campground and created many memorable moments singing karaoke next to the campfire.

She is survived her children, Camille Hill, Evelyn Hastings, Gordon Hastings, Nick Simpson and his companion Mercedes, Hanna Simpson-Tucker and her husband Cody; a brother Clayton Ayotte; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Dean Simpson, in 2013, a daughter, Gloria Dustin, an infant son, one brother, Donald Ayotte, and a sister, Gloria Comeau.

Relatives and friends may greet the family 9 – 11:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A Graveside service will follow in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren.
