Ashland--- Julia B. Ellis, 90, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at a Caribou healthcare facility. She was born July 11, 1925 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Ralph and Willa (McGaughy) Bragdon. She worked as a supply clerk and stitcher with Converse Shoe Co. for many years. Julia was a life member of the Ashland VFW Auxiliary, Post 9699, and a long-standing member of the Ashland Fish & Game Club and Castle Hill Grange. She loved fishing the local waters around Ashland and crafting with beads and canvas. She is survived by: two daughters, Easter Smith of Florida and Connie Brown and her husband Tim of Tennessee; four sons, Wesley Ellis and his companion Patty Fish of Bradley, Stephen Ellis and his wife Pam of Arizona; Luther Ellis and his wife Mary of New Hampshire, and Ricky Ellis and his wife Darlene of Old Town; four sisters, Betty Ellis, Natalie Maynard, Ada Ellis, all of Castle Hill, and Rachel Pinette and her husband Reginald of Ashland; one brother, Clifford Bragdon of Indiana; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, & great-great grandchildren Besides her parents, Julia is predeceased by: her husband of 40 years, Wilson "Bill" Ellis in 1988; a son, Wilson Ellis, Jr. in 2014; three brothers, Aubrey, Thurston, and Allen Bragdon. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland, with Rev. Lucy Lovely officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family Saturday morning 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ellis-Trafton Cemetery.
