Ashland--- Julie Belanger, 61, peacefully entered into rest Friday, November 11, 2022, with her family at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 20, 1960, in Presque Isle, a daughter of the late Ellery and Alicia (Colbath) Burby.

Julie worked for several years at local stores and gas stations, including former Al's Texaco, Ashland. She cherished working several seasons at High Lonesome Ranch, Colorado, where she maintained a very active fruit orchard, garden, and landscaping. Julie adored her family and loved spending time and creating memories with her handsome grandsons Jack and Liam. She treasured tending to her flowers and vegetable garden and enjoyed going to her favorite fishing spots with her husband, Ron.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 27 years, Ronald Belanger of Ashland; one son, Eric Hafford and his wife Beth of N. Carolina; two grandsons, Jack & Liam; eight siblings, Althea Mowerson of Massachusetts; Susan Smart and her husband Fred of Presque Isle, Bonnie Chapuis and her husband Ron of Arizona, Larry Burby Sr. and his wife Susan, Perley Burby and his wife Gayle, Donnie Burby and his wife Chris, Roger Burby and Douglas Burby and his wife Clara, all of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Julie was predeceased by one son, Jason Hafford in 2007, and five siblings, Floyd Burby, Norman Burby, Frances Condon, Robbie Burby, and infant Donna Burby.

Julie's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Ruth, Aroostook House of Comfort, and Northern Light Home Care & Hospice, for their dedicated care and compassion during such difficult times.

At Julie's request, funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. Arrangements were a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland.
