Van Buren and California---Keith B. Laplante, 55, passed away on May 26, 2026, at a health care facility in California. He was born in Caribou on February 9, 1971, beloved son of Bill Laplante and Raymonde (Lajoie) Laplante. Keith will be remembered as a kind-hearted and soft-spoken man whose great sense of humor brightened the lives of everyone who knew him. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and treasured the moments shared at Long Lake, a place that brought him peace and happiness. He is survived by his parents, Bill Laplante and his wife Donna of Van Buren, Raymonde (Lajoie) Laplante of Van Buren; one daughter, Alexis Higgins of New York; two brothers, Troy Laplante and his wife Amy of Caribou, Cory Laplante and his wife Monica of Presque-Isle; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; his companion, Amanda Weiler of California. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Chanel and Leola Laplante and his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Marcella Lajoie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at St. Bruno Church in Van Buren. Relatives and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Monday, June 8, 2026. There will no visiting hours Tuesday morning.
