Grand Isle---Kenneth V. Parker, 55, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Van Buren on January 9, 2013. He was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on January 14, 1957, son of the late Lionel and Jeannine (Michaud) Parker. He graduated from Van Buren Secondary School, class of 1975. Ken drove truck across country for over twenty years, but most recently worked for the Department of Transportation in Van Buren. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment. He is survived by his beloved companion of twenty three years, but as Ken would say, "My wife," Micheline (Mimi) Plante of Edmundston; one son, Todd Parker and his fiancée Amanda Pulkkinen; one daughter, Amy Hollis of Connecticut; one step-son, Joey Dunphy and his fiancée Tina Levesque of Edmundston; one grandson, Nathan Dunphy of Edmundston; his special dog, Candie; one sister, Sue Parker and her companion David Silsbee of Caribou; two brothers, Alan Parker of Jefferson, and Mike Parker and his wife Carol of Grand Isle; several nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his sister-in-law Gail Parker December 23, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church on Monday from 10am until time of service. Contributions in Ken's memory may be made to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929. Spring interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
