Garfield Plantation--- Lary C. Hews, 59, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2019 in Garfield Plantation. He was born March 19, 1960 in Presque Isle, son of Mary (Hancock) Hews and the late Holland Hews.

Lary graduated from Ashland Community High School in 1978. He worked much of his life in the forestry industry, mostly with Nadeau Logging.

He is survived by: his mother of Ashland; a brother, Lewis Hews and his wife Linsley of Ashland; and several close friends, Larry MacDonald of Ashland, Alan Chalou of Mapleton, and Tommie Ryan of Windham, NH.

Lary was predeceased by his father, Holland, grandparents, Ralph and Hannah Hews and Lewis and Arline Hancock, and uncles Alan Hancock, Stephen Hews and Carl Hews.

A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Ashland Municipal Cemetery, Sheridan Rd., Ashland, with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating. Following graveside services, friends are invited to gather at Union Congregation Church, Ashland, for fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lary's name may be made to: Central Aroostook Animal Shelter, 24 Cross Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
