Van Buren---Laura "Coune" Cyr, 84, passed away October 13, 2024, at a Van Buren health care facility.  She was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick on August 30, 1940, daughter of the late Alexis Alphonse and Laura (Desjardins) Gagnon.  Together with her husband, she owned and operated John's Restaurant for fifty years.  She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Ouellette and her husband Keith of Van Buren; two grandsons, Chad Cyr and his companion, Anne and Karson Ouellette all of Van Buren; three grand-daughters, Tabitha of South Carolina, Linda of Caribou, and Tiffany of Massachusetts; three great grandchildren, Anthony, Audrey, and Michael; two siblings, Leo Gagnon and Cecile Bourgoin both of Grand Falls; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, John Cyr in 2014.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church.  There will be no visiting hours.  Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at the Grand Riviere Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, Coune would want you to tip your favorite waitress.
