MADAWASKA—Lauretta Berube, 88, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2019, at a Madawaska health care facility surrounded by family and friends.  She was born in Madawaska on June 13, 1930, the daughter of Lawrence and Alice (Cyr) Violette.  Lauretta is survived by her four children: Philip Berube and his wife Ruth of Madawaska, Elaine Bridges and her husband Brent Schrock of Aztec, New Mexico, Patrick Berube of Fairfield, and Lori Dumont and her husband Dave of Brewer; ten grandchildren: Ben Berube, Andrew and Sharon Berube, Nathan and Peter Ekola, Lisa Moore, Crystal Beaulieu, Amy Murphy, and Derek Dumont; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers: John Violette and his wife Loiselle of New Hampshire, and Harold Violette and his wife Lucille of Madawaska; one sister-in-law, Jackie Violette of Madawaska and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Lauretta was predeceased by her brother, James Violette; her son, David Berube; and her grandson, Matthew Berube. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10AM on Friday, May 24, 2019, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska with interment immediately following in the Parish cemetery.  Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9-9:45AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lauretta's name to Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter Suite 2C, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
