Obituary

Grand Isle---Laurette Lizotte, 98, passed away March 10, 2023, at a Madawaska health care facility.  She was born in St. David on January 18, 1925, daughter of late Adolphe and Alice (Dube) Gendreau.  She had a strong faith and was a very devoted Catholic.  She was a communicant of St. Gerard Church and was a Sacristan for many years.  She was a lifetime member of the Ladies of St. Anne.  She is survived by seven children, Patsy Ayotte and her husband Patrick of Frenchville, Angela Soucy and her husband Gerald of Grand Isle, Joyce Deschaine and her husband Philip of St. David, Gene Lizotte and his wife Sharon of St. Agatha, Carol Floyd of Texas, James Lizotte and his wife Dee of St. David, and Alan Lizotte and his wife Tina of Grand Isle; eighteen grandchildren, Keith, Craig, Kevin, Steve, Dale, Randy, Kevin, Kylie, Trevor, Christa, Jake, Gene, Jr., Crystal, Riley, Haley, Shane, Elisha, and Chasity; twenty five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  Laurette was predeceased by her husband, Guy Lizotte; one grandchild, Sam Lizotte; one son-in-law, Gene Floyd; fourteen siblings.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle.  Relatives and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home, in Madawaska from 6-8pm on Friday, March 17.  There will be no visiting hours on Saturday before the Mass.
