Van Buren--- Lawrence Thibodeau, 88, died peacefully at home Friday, January 27, 2017, with his family at his side, following a long illness. He was born May 23, 1928 in St. Francis, a son of the late David and Rosanna (Dubay) Thibodeau.
Lawrence worked as a metal and iron worker many years in Connecticut with Morin Erection Company, Bristol. Following his retirement, he and his wife relocated a short time in Palm Coast, FL and then returned to his beloved northern Maine. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and was an avid sports fan of the New England Patriots and New York Yankees. He especially cherished his visits to Connecticut to see his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of 67 years, Leona (Berube) Thibodeau of Van Buren; two sons, Larry Thibodeau and his wife Ann Marie of Wolcott, CT and Duane Thibodeau of Van Buren; two siblings, Leon "Norman" Thibodeau and his wife Beverly of Palm Coast, FL and Violet Harvey of Fort Kent; ten grandchildren, Tammy, Brian, Joseph, Stacy, David, Jason, Nadine, Alan, Jessica & Morgan; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Lawrence is predeceased by two daughters, Delores Trottier and Linda Cavallo, one granddaughter, Melissa, and a sister, Doris O'Hearn.

Calling hours will be on Thursday February 2, 2017 from 9 to 10:30 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott, CT, followed by a Mass at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1300 Woodtick Rd.in Wolcott at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
