Obituary

Masardis--- Lee A. Parker, 81, died Thursday, October 10, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully with family by his side. He was born March 13, 1938 in Ashland, a son of the late Purlin Parker and Madeline (Skinner) Parker-Ellis.

Lee worked for Ashland logging and trucking companies, including Big Brook Logging, Pine Tree Trucking and Diamond International. He also sold cars, for a period of time for friends. He was a jack-of-all-trades and a skilled mechanic. If a machine seemed it couldn't be fixed, Lee was the one to call. He has serviced hundreds of chainsaws, small engines and vehicles, which also became a hobby as he tinkered on his collection of tractors, mowers, snowmobiles, four wheelers and vintage cars. He liked to hunt and fish the many woods and waters of northern Maine, loved spending time with his grandchildren and many friends, or simply relaxing at the Garfield (10-6) family camp.

He is survived by: his loving wife of 56 years, Katherine (Lyons) Parker of Masardis & Presque Isle; four children, George MacDonald and his companion Teri England of Washington, Kathy Levesque and her husband Dan of Portage Lake, Pamela MacDonald and her husband David Back of Texas, and Lee Parker Jr. of California; two sisters, Donna Beaulier and her husband Myrton of Corinth and Anne Ketch and her husband Clyde "Buddy" of Windham; step siblings, Charles & Edward Ellis; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Lee was predeceased by six siblings; Ray, Don, Austin (Stan), Lois, Marie, Betty, and a grandson, Adam Michalka.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the VFW Hall, 36 Portage Rd, Ashland.  A celebration of his life and luncheon to follow.  Relatives and friends may greet the family from 9:30 AM at the VFW until the time of service. Burial will follow in Masardis Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lee's name may be made to: C-A-N-C-E-R, Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education & Recovery, PO Box 811, Presque Isle, ME 04769 or Aroostook House of Comfort, PO Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
