Leo James
St. Jarre
January 18, 1940 – June 15, 2020
Madawaska---Leo James St. Jarre, 80, passed away on June 15, 2020, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born in Frenchville, on January 18, 1940, son of the late Alcide and Irene (Levesque) St. Jarre. James graduated from Madawaska High School in 1958 and went on to SMVTI for two years. Upon graduation, he worked as a mechanic for two years before entering Fraser Papers, and retired from Twin Rivers after forty years as a Millwright. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, but he especially loved fabricating and tinkering in his workshop. After surviving cancer, he lived life to the best of his capability. He enjoyed family get-togethers and meeting up with old buddies from his working years. He will be dearly missed and remembered for his integrity and positive attitude to life as well as his sense of humor and his hearty laugh. Leo James is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Arlene (Sirois) St. Jarre; two sons, James St. Jarre and his partner, Diana Onack, and Randy St. Jarre; two step-daughters, Tammy Hodgman and her husband Mike, and Melissa DiMauro and her husband Paul Dysert; three granddaughters, Abigayle and Emma Hodgman, and Samantha DiMauro; three sisters, Vi Daigle and her husband Al, Pat Dufour and her husband Arnold, Odette Marquis and her husband Bob; one brother, Guy St. Jarre and his wife Cecile; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will be held immediately after the service at the St. David Cemetery.
