St. David – Leon Caron, 96, passed away on May 6, 2019 at a Madawaska health care facility, after a brief illness.  He was born on April 11, 1923, son of the late Joseph and Ozithée Gorneault.

Leon loved going to the gym and preparing his own meals. He was the king of remotes.  He loved to watch recorded TV shows and was happy when his children watched TV with him, especially wrestling.  He always remembered to call his family and grandkids on their birthdays.

Leon is survived by his five children, Lionel, Rudy and his wife Marielle, Louise, Ray, all of California and Cam of St. David; five grandchildren, Jason and his wife Leah, Kevin and his wife Liz, Michael and his wife Krystn, Eric and Lauren; six great grandchildren, Allyster, Ellyce and Everly (twins), Adelyn, Abby and Eric; along with many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Marthe Theriault, and as the last member of his immediate family, all his brothers and sisters.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the St. David Church.  Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church prior to the service from 9:00am until 9:45am.  The burial will be held in the Parish cemetery immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Leon's memory may be made to the Ridgewood Estates Activity Fund, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, ME 04756.
