Madawaska---Leon "Bee" Cyr, 79, passed away on January 27, 2023, at his residence in Madawaska.  He was born in Grand Isle on May 3, 1943, the only son of the late Andre and Normande (Corbin) Cyr.  He retired as Machine Tender on #6 paper machine from Fraser Paper after forty two years of service (a job he both loved and hated), always remembering with fondness his relationships with co-workers.  He would always recall the special times he would spend with his son at hunting camp and reminisce about the beautiful bucks they would harvest.  Leon was a very good marksman and loved target shooting.  He was skilled in the process of "sighting in" his rifles and enjoyed helping others with their guns.  He liked working outside and keeping his home and grounds in pristine condition.  He was a friend of nature and always kept feed on hand for the birds and chipmunks that could be found around his property.  A bit of a perfectionist, he corded his wood so perfectly in the back of his house that people would sometimes stop and take photos of it.  Leon was a very knowledgeable and soft-spoken man who loved his family and would do anything to help them out.  He will be dearly missed by those that knew him.  Leon is survived by his loving wife of fifty nine years, June (Ouellette) Cyr; a son, Steve Cyr and his wife Carol; one grandson, Craig; four sisters, Dorina (Gene) Beaulieu of Grand Isle, Linda (Dan) Lausier of Westbrook, Nancy (Joel) Michaud of Madawaska, Brenda (Daniel) Dubay of Madawaska; several nieces and nephews.  Leon was a private man, and his wishes were that no public funeral services were to be scheduled. However, a private Memoriam is planned for family at a later date.
