Obituary

St. David --- Leonette Gendreau, 78, passed away with her family by her side on May 24, 2018 at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born in Fort Kent on October 28, 1939, daughter of the late Emile and Edwina (LeBlanc) Deschaine. Leonette was known for being a hard-worker and will always be remembered for having an infectious laugh. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.  Leonette is survived by her seven children; Shelley Sirois and her husband Marcel of Madawaska, Marlene Dechaine and her husband Joe of Madawaska, Susan Desjardins and her husband Alan of Madawaska, Paula Techiera and her husband Michael of New Hampshire, Danny Gendreau and his wife Deborah of Madawaska, Stephen Gendreau and his wife Lisa of St. David, and Glen Gendreau and his companion Melanie of Saco; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren on the way; five siblings, Reno Deschaine, Cecile Paradis, Nelson Deschaine, Florence Pelletier, and Doris Staples; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Roland Gendreau, in 1982; one son Dana Gendreau, in 2017; three siblings, Bernadette Libby, Reginald Deschaine, and Jeanette Bourgoin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, May 29th at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at the Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Monday, May 28th. Interment will follow at the Parish cemetery.
