Portage Lake--- Leroy "Lee" Hutchinson, 65, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at his home in Portage Lake. He was born April 21, 1948 and raised in Cranbury, NJ, a son of the late Harvey and Genevive (Stonaker) Hutchinson. After graduating high school, Lee enlisted with the US Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam; being wounded during wartime and his honorable service, he received the Purple Heart. Spending his whole life in Cranbury, NJ, he was also the owner of Hutchinson Excavating for over 35 years. After retirement, he relocated to Portage Lake with his loving wife Lucy, where he was recently elected president of the Portage Lake ATV Club. He was especially proud to be a grandfather to his "Izzy", and especially eager to spend more time with his new little Katie. Lee will be dearly missed by: his wife of 24 years, Lucy (Pryor) Hutchinson of Portage Lake; two children, Scott Hutchinson and his wife Donna of Hamilton, NJ, and Terri Santos of Hightstown, NJ; a step son, Jason Harvey and his wife Stephanie of Yukon, OK; three brothers, Richard Hutchinson and his wife Shelia of Monroe, NJ, John Hutchinson and his wife Eleanor of Pocomoke, MD, George Hutchinson and his companion Gail of Dayton, NJ; and two granddaughters, Isabela Santos and Katie Hutchinson. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Harvey and Robert Hutchinson, and a sister, Dorothy Thompson. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery.
