Madawaska---Lester "Les" Joseph Dumond 79 years young, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 13, 2023.  He was born in Soldier Pond on September 26, 1943, son of the late Aurel and Irene (Cote) Dumond.  Les is survived by his faithful wife of 54 years Pierrette (Bonsant) Dumond; devoted father of Natalie and son in law, James Hanna and Paul Dumond; loving Pépère of Simone and Alexander Hanna and his spouse Melissa; dear brother of Christine (Dumond) and Tom Scott, Allen Dumond and Lois, Karen (Dumond) and Jim Gagnon; nieces and nephews; along with favorite pets, Rascal, Mindy and Duke.  He was predeceased by his parents, Aurel and Irene (Cote) Dumond.  Lester proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He enjoyed a good joke and loved to tease those around him. He also loved the hunt for that special piece of antique for a good friend.  Les was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lester's name may be made to Angel Flight, www.angelflightne.org and would be greatly appreciated.  A graveside services will be celebrated at 1pm on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Lombard Road, Caribou, Maine, with military honors.
