IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lillian (Audet)
Bachelder
October 23, 1936 – September 2, 2022
ASHLAND- Lil Bachelder, age 85, died peacefully in her home on September 2, 2022. She was born on October 23, 1936, in Caribou, Maine, the daughter of Louis and Cecile (Raymond) Audet.
Lil graduated from Portland High School, married William T. Bachelder, and later settled in Baldwin. Together they had four children Connie, William, Patrick, and Bonnie. While in Baldwin, Lil was known for her food, specifically her pizzas, and could always be found in her store Bach's Pizza.
After the death of her husband, she moved to Ashland. It was here where Lil became infamous for her bread, cinnamon rolls, and especially her survival cookies. Lil worked in the food service industry for many years and was always a helping hand for various organizations, the local school, North Maine Woods, and St. Matthew's Church.
She was an avid fisherman who always had her secret spot and had a fondness for the woods. Lil had a passion for wildlife, from watching the moose and bears in her pond to feeding the deer and foxes that frequented her lawn. Lil was especially fond of her sister Rose and their daily phone calls, spending time with her great-grandchildren, and let's not forget her love of Hershey's chocolate!
In addition to her parents, Lil was predeceased by her husband William, brother Eugene, and sisters Marie, Alice, and Rita.
Surviving are her children Connie (& Dwight) Warren, William (& Shelia) Bachelder, Patrick (& Rosiland) Bachelder, and Bonnie (& Donald) Frank, and ten grandchildren William, Nathaniel, Lily, Martha, Sara, Charles, Nichole, Dustin, Donald, and Jere, and numerous great-grandchildren, her brothers Willie, Phil, and Louie, and sisters Rose and Nora.
Funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of Lil's family. Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St/PO Box 39, Ashland, ME 04732
