Obituary

Allagash---Linwood Flora, 73, passed away on October 1, 2017 at a Caribou health care facility.  He was born in Bangor on August 3, 1944, son of the late Frank and Emily (McBrearity) Flora.  Linwood enjoyed working with wood, often demolishing and remodeling things.  He enjoyed fishing with his wife Julie and camping with his in-laws.  Linwood served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 during Vietnam.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Fort Kent, a member of the American Legion in St. Francis.  Linwood was also a member of the Allagash Fire Department, serving as a Chief for a few years.  He was an EMT for eight years in Allagash and a board member of the elderly housing.  He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Julie (Michaud) Flora of Allagash; two sisters, Debbie Hamilton and her husband Jim, and Lisa Turner all of Kentucky; two brothers, Richard Flora and his wife Tammy, and Danny Flora and his wife Leah all of Kentucky; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is was predeceased by his step-father, Darcy Thibodeau.  A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Caribou Veterans Cemetery, 37 Lombard Rd., Caribou, ME 04736.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
