Obituary

Fort Kent---Lloyd J. Paradis, 87, passed away on December 9, 2018 at a Fort Kent health care center.  He left us to celebrate Christmas and eternity with Jesus.  He was born on December 31, 1930, in Fort Kent, the son of Louis J. and Flora (Austin) Paradis.  Lloyd was past owner of Paradis Lunch for a number of years.  He later worked at the family Paradis Shop and Save until his retirement.  He always had a smile on his face while enduring a two-and-a-half-year battle with prostate cancer.  He was a man of strong faith and very active in his church.  He loved singing and was involved in the choir, served on different church commissions, was a Third Degree Knights of Columbus, and a secular Franciscan and Associate.  He also loved volunteering at local nursing homes.
He leaves behind his wife of thirty one years, Louise (Robichaud) Paradis; his four children, John of Fort Kent, Louise of Veazie, Janice of Swansville, and Glenn (Debbie) of Reading, MA; ten grandchildren, Ann, Shayna, Stephen, Carly Rae, Courtney (Kyle), Chelsey (Ron), Adam (Sarah), Megan, Chris, and Shane; nine great-grandchildren and two on the way; one sister, Claudette Gobeil of Saskatchewan, Canada; five brothers, Maurice (Joella) of Fort Kent, Clarence of Connecticut and Florida, Ronald (Joan), Royden (Cecile) of Fort Kent, Kenneth (Joan) of Eagle Lake; two sisters-in-law, Leona and Claudette of Fort Kent; many nieces, nephews; and his loving dog, Chico.  In addition to both his parents, he was predeceased by his infant daughter, Marie, his daughter, Karen Maxson; five brothers, twin baby brother, Jean Louis, Quentin, Leo, Claude, and Roger.  Four sisters, Sister Geneva SCIM, Rowena Pittman, Doris Simone, Patricia Robichaud, and the mother of his children, Doris (Daigle) Paradis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent.  Family and friends may call at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Friday and from 9:30am until 10:45am on Saturday before the service.  Spring interment will take place at the St. Louis Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Aroostook House of Comfort, 18 Green Hill Dr., Suite 1, Presque-Isle, ME 04769, or a charity of your choice.
