Lorette (Rioux) Simard, 86 of Port Richey, FL, beloved wife of Roland Simard, passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2020 in Hudson, FL. She was born June 14, 1933 in Fort Kent, ME, the daughter of the late Philip and Mary Ann Rioux. She was raised in Fort Kent and graduated from Fort Kent Community High School, Class of 1952. Like many of her generation, Lorette learned early on that hard work has value. During her time in high school she was employed at Sears & Roebuck Co. in F ort Kent.

Lorette married her high school sweetheart, Roland Simard of Eagle Lake, ME, and the young couple moved to Newington, CT to raise a family. From their home on Clifford Street they raised five boys. Lorette supported all of her children and all of their activities. During her boys' years at home she spent more time in the stands at a baseball field than she could count. While raising her family she found the time to work outside of her home as well, spending over 20 years as a medical assistant for Dr. Goldenberg in Hartford.

Family meant everything to Lorette. In addition to Roland and her sons, she was happiest surrounded by her large extended family, often at a campsite. For decades she was a driving force in the annual Simard and friends picnic, bringing together multiple generations of her family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband, Roland, Lorette is survived by their sons Philip and wife Ranie Simard of Idaho Falls, ID, Steven Simard of New Britain, CT, Wayne Simard of Newington, CT, Randall Simard and his fiancé Tracy Garcia of Sarasota, FL and Patrick Simard of Newington, CT. She was the proud grandmother of Jenny Simard of Brooklyn, NY, Bret Simard of New Britain, CT, Samantha Simard of Newington, CT and Jesse and Tyler Simard of Burlington, CT. Lorette is also survived by her sister Betty and Gilman Michaud of Windham, ME. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her twin sister Lorraine and Wilford Losier and her sister Jacqueline and Fred Ames.

Lorette's family will hold a celebration of her life Sunday March 8 in Port Richey, FL. and in Connecticut at a date to be announced.
