Madawaska---Lorraine M. Barfield, 76, passed away on September 23, 2016 at the Edmundston Regional Hospital.  facility.  She was born in St. David on October 9, 1939, daughter of the late Donat and Josephine (Michaud) Cyr.  Family meant a lot to Lorraine and was often taking care of many children.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards.  She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Raymond Barfield, Sr. of Madawaska; one son, Raymond Barfield, Jr. and his wife April of North Waterboro, ME; three grandchildren, Katie Wallace and her companion Dave Levesque of Madawaska, Chrystal Barfield of Mechanic Falls, Alyssa Barfield of North Waterboro; three great grandchildren, Valentina, Brianna, and Alexis Levesque of Madawaska; three sisters, Angela Albert and her husband Fern of Madawaska, Helena Pelletier of Meriden, CT, Jacqueline Ferral of Madawaska; two brothers, Roland Cyr of Plymouth, CT and Robert Cyr and his wife Nicole of Madawaska; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two sons, Michael and Danny; one sister, Joan Geraghty; one brother, Lionel "Pitou" Cyr.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Wednesday before the service.  Interment will immediately follow the service at the parish cemetery.
