Hamlin and Van Buren--- Louie J. Ouellette, 86, peacefully entered into rest July 9, 2024 at a Madawaska healthcare facility, with his wife at his side. He was born December 12, 1937, in Cyr Plantation, a son of the late Guy and Yvonne (Perreault) Ouellette.

Louie was engaged as a farmer, worked at various occupations and then became a Master Plumber, which he worked at for many years until his retirement.  He had a talent for remodeling and renovated their Hamlin home.  He enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, skeet shooting, pool and bowling.  He was involved with the Van Buren Snowmobile Club, as well as the Van Buren Knights of Columbus, Third Degree.

He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Germaine (Desjardins) Ouellette of Van Buren; two children, Alan Ouellette of Scarborough and Nora Ouellette of Florida; a granddaughter, Katy Perry of Florida; a sister, Renee Cosmopulos of Massachusetts; two brothers, Nathan and Robert Ouellette, both of Van Buren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Louie was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Elio Ouellette, and four sisters, Aggie Stimson, Pauline Jandreau, Yvette Desjardins and Gladys Ouellette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren.
