Eagle Lake and Fort Kent---Louis P. Albert, 86, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, at a Presque-Isle health care facility.  He was born in St. Agatha, son of the late Romeo and Cora (Ayotte) Albert.  Louis was an extremely hardworking person who loved providing for his family. Although he came from a family of little means, they instilled in him a very strong work ethic. He used this ethic to become the first in his family to graduate from college, Husson University, and went on to teach high school at Fort Kent Community High. After a few years of teaching, he moved to SAD 27, where he was the business administrator until he retired from the school district in 1987.  In 1973, he started his second career in real estate, when he started his company, St. John Valley Realty Co. He went on to be very successful in not only real estate sales, but also property management, real estate development, and low-income housing. His business was sold to his son, Michael, in 2004, and is still in business today. More than nearly anything else, Louis enjoyed working, and continued coming into work every day until a few months ago. He met his goal by leaving behind such a great legacy.  He is survived by two sons, Daniel P. Albert and his wife Sheila of West Gardner, and Michael C. Albert and his wife Sheri of Fort Kent; four grandchildren, Robin, Ian, Gavin, and Kearston; one step-grandchild John and his wife Landira of Rhode Island; four step great grandchildren, Alanis, Delgado, Darius and Aisla; one sister, Joan Nicknair; his companion, Anita Clavette of Fort Kent; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the St. Louis Church.  Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Wallagrass.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.  For online condolences, please visit www.lajoiefuneralhome.com
