Louis "Bucket" Cyr, 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Madawaska, ME on November 1, 2023. Louis was born in Frenchville, ME on October 2, 1950, to Reginald and Lucille (Roussel) Cyr.
He served in the United States Army National Guard and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 147. During his time in the National Guard, Louis was awarded the "Sharpshooter" recognition.
Bucket's work ethic was unmatched, he held various jobs throughout his life, took great pride in his work and was skilled in many trades.
Though his true pride and joy were his two sons. He enjoyed teaching them and passing down all his many skills from changing the brakes on their vehicles to home construction projects. He knew it all and was always ready to share and teach them how.
Louis' favorite times and memories were spent with his family. Especially Christmas gatherings at his childhood home with his Mom, sons, brother, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Louis is survived by two sons, Jeremy Cyr, his wife Angela and their daughter Blake of Frenchville, ME; Brandon Cyr and his wife Fuschia of Brooks, ME; four sisters, Claudette Daigle and her husband Camille of Turner, ME; Noella Couturier and her husband Hermel of Edmundston, NB; Jeannine Bonenfant of Madawaska, ME; Pauline Cyr of Edmundston, NB; and many nieces and nephews.
Louis is predeceased by his parents Reginald and Lucille (Roussel) Cyr and his brother Maurice Cyr.
The family will be holding a private gathering to celebrate and honor his life.
