Van Buren---Louis A. Laplante, 71, passed away on August 22, 2024, at his residence with his loving family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Biddeford on April 11, 1953, son of the late Arsene and Doris (Ouellette) Laplante.  He was a long-haul trucker for most of his life, retiring in 2019.  He really enjoyed making people laugh, but his biggest joy in life was being home, and spending time with family.  He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-five years, Linda (Lajoie) Laplante of Van Buren; one son, Ben Laplante of New York; two daughters, Kyla Laplante of Colorado, Micah Laplante and her husband Mitch Evett of Colorado; three siblings, Jeanne Laplante and her companion Dave Deschaine of Westbrook; Jim Laplante of Van Buren, Bern Thivierege and her husband Gary of Van Buren; many nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Chistian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the St. Bruno Church in Van Buren.  Relatives and friends may offer their condolences on Tuesday, August 27 from 5pm to 8pm at Lajoie Funeral Home in Van Buren.  There will be no visiting hours the morning of the Mass.
