St. David--- Louise Gendreau, 80, passed away Sunday morning, January 28, 2018, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born September 9, 1937 in St. Agatha, a daughter of the late Michel and Anna (Pelletier) Hebert.
Though she was a dedicated mother and wife, she worked many years as a CNA at local nursing homes, and as a doctor's aide/receptionist for former Dr. Faucher, of Grand Isle. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. During her younger years, Louise adored going dancing with her husband or spending an evening at home playing cards.
She is survived by: her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Clifford Gendreau of Madawaska, formerly of St. David; two children, Phil Gendreau and his wife Debbie of Madawaska, and Dana Gendreau of St. David; five grandchildren, Dustin, Christina, Eric, Sara and Joe; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by four brothers, Monfort, Kenneth, Edmond and Leo.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at St. David Catholic Church, St. David. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday 6-8 PM and Thursday 9-9:30AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114-10th Ave., Madawaska. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
