Obituary

Madawaska---It is with much sadness, that the family of Lucille (Fongemie) Dionne announces her passing away peacefully on October 8, 2019 at a Fort Kent health care facility at the age of 97.  She was born July 27, 1922, daughter of the late Octave and Adele Fongemie.  During the war years, she worked in the mills in Lewiston.  In October 1945 she married Leo Dionne who died in 1985.  Most of her life was spent as housewife and caring for her children and for many other children.  She is survived by four children, Br. Nelson Dionne, a Brother of the Sacred Heart, chaplain at St. Columba's College in England, Connie Cyr and her husband, James (West Hartford, CT), Charlene Saucier and her husband Gary (Lewiston, ME), Danny Dionne and his wife Lynn (Bristol, CT).  We remember Lorraine who died January 2014 and predeceased her husband Gabriel Grenier (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and we remember Cecile who died December 2014 and predeceased her husband Tim Thibodeau (Vernon, CT).  Lucille was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Neil Thibodeau and his wife Kimberly, Shelley Roberts and her husband Todd, Lisa Arute, Lori-Ann Matteson and her husband Kevin, Gabe Cyr and his wife Elizabeth, Kim Cyr, Jennifer Dionne and her husband Mike Pratt, Tina St. Laurent and her husband David, Renée Dionne and Erin Saucier.  Plus, she was blessed to have many wonderful great grandchildren, Austin, Logan and Konnor Matteson; Jacklyn and Morgan Arute; Caelan, Rachel and Joshua Thibodeau; Katelyn and Abigail Cyr; Kailey and Zoe St. Laurent; Peyton and Kaidance Pratt.  The Dionne family thanks the staff at Forest Hill Rehab Center for the excellent care and kindness shown to our mother and for the numerous friends, relatives and members of the Saucier family who regularly visited and supported her. We are extremely grateful!  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the St. David Church.  Family and friends may offer their condolences at Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 6-8pm and on Saturday October 12 th from 8:30 – 9:30am before the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Forest Hill Rehab Center, 25 Bolduc Ave, Fort Kent, ME  04743, or to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, 4600 Elysian Field Ave, New Orleans, LA  70122.
