Obituary

Madawaska--- Lucille Gendreau, 92, entered into rest Thursday, March 30, 2017, at her home. She was born October 22, 1924 in St. Agatha, a daughter of the late Alfred and Modeste (Raymond) Plourde.
Lucile was a devoted homemaker and prided herself for raising her beloved children and caring for her husband, but she never shied away from working with her husband on the family farm. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel Church.
She is survived by: her husband of 69 years, Ernest J. Gendreau of Madawaska; four children, Fern Gendreau of Grand Isle, Linda M. Cyr of Madawaska, John Gendreau and his wife Fran of St. David, and Allen Gendreau and his wife Debbie of Auburn; two siblings, Gilbert Plourde and Azilda Nedeau, all of Plainville, CT; five grandchildren, Brenda, Brian, Michelle, Andrew, and Adam; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Lucille is predeceased by her first husband, Wilfrid Gendreau, a grandson, Dale, a son-in-law, Norman M. Cyr, three siblings and nine half-siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday 6-8:00 PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114-10th Ave., Madawaska. There will be no visitation Tuesday morning. Spring interment will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucille's name may be made to: Mizpah, PO Box 216, Grand Isle, ME 04746
