Van Buren--- Lucille Marie Scott, 100, peacefully entered into the waiting arms of the Lord December 31, 2023. She was born August 21, 1923, in Van Buren, a daughter of the late Leon and Angelique (Michaud) Rossignol.
Lucille relocated to Massachusetts during WWII, where she assisted in the war efforts making tires. She met her beloved husband, William Scott, and married in 1949. Together they built their lives together and raised their two daughters. Following retirement, she went to live with one of her daughters in Texas for a short time, until her husband passed. She was delighted to move back to her hometown of Van Buren in 2010, where she reconnected with her family and many childhood friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Scott; four siblings, Percy Rossignol, Phillippe Rossignol, all of Van Buren, Virginia Lucia and her husband of Massachusetts, John R. Rossignol and his wife Mona of Van Buren; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her husband, William, a daughter Sheila Sousa, and twelve siblings, Delina Ouellette, Anita Rossignol, Leona Tardif, Alma Swanson, Rene Rossignol, Claire Charette, Fernand Rossignol, Bernadette Rossignol, Roselle Ouellette, baby Marie Rossignol, Eugene Rossignol, Kenneth Rossignol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, Main St. Van Buren. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
