Madawaska-- Lucille M. Sirois, 86, passed away peacefully at a Nashua, NH, healthcare facility on August 10, 2025. She was born August 16, 1938, in Clair, NB, Canada, daughter of the late James and Anita (Ouellette) Plourde.
Lucille graduated from Riviere-Verte High School and earned her bachelor's degree in education from the New Brunswick Teachers' College, Fredericton, in 1957. She began her teaching career instructing elementary and middle school students for five years in Clair and Riviere-Verte, NB. She married the love of her life, Robert G. Sirois, on May 15, 1962, and began raising her family. Lucille was a devoted mother and doting wife. During her years in Madawaska, she volunteered her time and language skills to St. Thomas Church by translating bulletins and prayers.
Lucille is survived by sons, William (Christine) Sirois of Merrimac, N.H., and David (Kathleen) Sirois of Sherwood, Wis.; siblings, Gisele Ringuette, Jacqueline (Robert) Allain, Hermel (Murielle) Plourde, Gilbert (Ethel) Ploude, Guildo (Dorine) Plourde, Alban (Alma) Plourde, Reynald Plourde, Mario (Ginette) Ploude, Micheline Plourde, and Francois (Denise) Plourde; grandchildren Samantha, Andrew, James & Elaina; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert Sirois, in 2011, and two brothers, Real and Rodrigue Plourde.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at St. Thomas Church, Madawaska. Visitation for relatives and friends may greet the family ahead of the mass Friday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, Madawaska. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Lucille's name to: Alzheimer's Assoc., Maine Chapter Office, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074, or the American Cancer Society, P.O.
