Fort Kent and Caribou--- Lucille "Lucy" Toussaint, 77, peacefully entered into eternal life Sunday, October 9, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born August 13, 1945, in Fort Kent, a daughter of the late Adrian and Jeanne (Dufour) Marquis.

She was a graduate of Fort Kent Community High School, Class of 1967, and attended University of Maine- Fort Kent for several courses. Following her education, Lucy was a devoted volunteer and teacher's aide for St. Louis Church and their religious education and SPRED (SPecial Religious EDucation) programs for many years; her Catholic faith was core to her entire life. She loved music and flooded her entire life with loud and rocking sounds from radio, records, and cassette players. When Lucy wasn't attending Mass and enjoying the beautiful hymns, she loved to cheer on her beloved Boston Red Sox or joining in a boisterous card game of charlemagne. Though her life may have had many challenges, Lucy's gentle spirit was a constant reminder of how much she embraced her life and the beautiful lives of all around her.

Her gentle soul will sorely by missed by a daughter, Maria Toussaint of Fort Kent; two sisters, Rita Desjardins and her husband Peter of Bath, and Jeanne Banville of Connecticut; one brother, Alphie Marquis and his wife Michelle of Connecticut; and several beloved nieces and nephews, whom she enjoyed playing games with and feeding them spaghetti with tomato juice.

Besides her parents, Lucy was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Lewis, a brother, Paul Joseph Marquis, and brother-in-law, Bernard Banville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
