Van Buren---Marcella M. Lajoie, 93, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 17, 2019 at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born in Lille on September 15, 1925, daughter of the late Luc and Marie (Sirois) Marquis. She was a communicant of the St. Bruno Church and a lifetime member of the Columbiettes, Van Buren charter. Marcella enjoyed music and was always found singing and playing the organ. She was a true inspiration and lived a life of love, faith, laughter, and dedication to family. She worked effortlessly and tirelessly to make sure her family was well taken care, and of course well fed. She took great pride in raising such a beautiful, hardworking, and loving family with her beloved husband Raymond. She is survived by her five children, Carol Ouellette and her husband Robert, Raymonde Laplante, Michael Lajoie and his wife Marie, Linda Laplante and her husband Louis, Philip Lajoie and his wife Susan; all of Van Buren; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lajoie of Van Buren; fifteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Carline Boucher of Van Buren; Laura Marquis Cormier of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews. Marcella was predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond Lajoie; one son, Herman Lajoie; and one granddaughter, Kim Beaulieu; and all eight of her siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the St. Bruno Church in Van Buren. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home in Van Buren from 5pm-8pm on Monday. There will be no visiting hours on Tuesday before the service. Interment will be held immediately after the service at the Grand River Cemetery.
