Madawaska & Auburn--- Marilyn "Dolly" Dufour, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 24, 2025 in Auburn. She was born December 27, 1938 in Soldier Pond, the twelfth of thirteen children born to the late Alfred and Elizabeth Rose Lamarre.
Dolly married her beloved husband in 1959 and together raised their five children in Madawaska. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She valued spending time with family and enjoyed cooking delicious meals and desserts for everyone. Dolly also cherished the shopping excursions with her daughters and eating out with friends and family. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella, enjoyed volunteering in the community, and playing cards with her friends in Northern Maine.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Glenn Dufour (Nancy), Mike Dufour (Carol), Elaine Dufour, Parise Chamberland (Greg) and John Dufour (Kim); she is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Kerri, Christopher, Eric, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Mark, Leah, Alex, Kevin, Megan and Cole; great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Noah, Carson and Everly; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Alva, and siblings, Herby, Gladys, Laurette, Madeline, Huby, Billy, Rene, Phil, Larry, Simone, Inez, and Freddy.
Dolly's family wishes to extend special thanks to the loving, compassionate caregivers at Schooner Memory Care Facility, Auburn, for taking such great care of her during her final stay. Their dedication will always be remembered and cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolly's name may be made to: Andwell Health & Hospice, attn. Dev.
