Obituary
St. Francis---Mark W. Gardner, 55, of St. Francis, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 31, 2017, follow a short period of declining health. He was born May 17, 1962 in Fort Kent, a son of Llewellyn Gardner and the late Rita (Morin) Gardner, and raised in St. Francis.
He enlisted with the US Marines, stationed overseas for several years, before returning to his hometown. Mark was a master carpenter and worked many years along the St. John Valley building many homes, among other projects. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed reading. He had a passion for his Chevy Nova, which he spent years restoring, and liked to spend time in the woods enjoying what nature had to offer.
He is survived by: two children, Trevor Gardner of Kentucky and Jesse Gardner of St. Francis; his father of St. Francis; four siblings, Dana Gardner and his wife Jolene, Dale Gardner, Patricia Gardner and Sherri MacLaren, all of St. Francis; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
