Mark Anthony Morneault, of Fort Kent, Maine, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 28, 1961, in Bangor, ME, Mark was the son of Joel and Lise (Levesque) Morneault. A lifelong Catholic, his faith was an important part of his life and provided him with strength and guidance. He was a member of St. John Vianney Parish.
Mark was a Certified Public Accountant and part owner of Plourde, Morneault & Dubay (PMD), where he worked for more than 40 years. His journey with PMD began while he was still in college, where he had the opportunity to learn under the guidance of his treasured Uncle Jim Plourde; of whom Mark held deep respect and appreciation. Mark’s work was an important part of his life, but what mattered most to him were the people and relationships that came with it. Through his business and his involvement in the community, Mark gave generously of his time, knowledge, and resources. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh.
Above all else, family always came first. Mark and his beloved wife, Lisa, shared 36 years of marriage and together built a beautiful family that was his greatest source of pride and joy. He cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family, and the love he had for them was at the heart of everything he did.
Mark is survived by his wife, Lisa; his son, Kurtis Morneault, and his wife, Ashley, and their sons, Luke and Ryan; his daughter, Kate Holman, and her husband, Jake, and their daughters, Elise and Claire; his mother, Lise Morneault; his beloved sisters, Denise Gehman and her husband, Bill, and Lynn Goulas and her husband, Steve; his nieces and nephews, Michelle Davis and her husband, JT, and their children, Madison and Reese; Kelly Dionne and her husband, John, and their children, Blake and Preston; Steve Goulas; Alexa Goulas; and Dylan Goulas; father-in-law Clifton Pelletier and brother-in-law Kevin Pelletier; his beloved godchildren, Michelle, Alexa, and Mitchell; as well as his business partner Dale Dubay, and the dedicated staff of PMD; extended family members, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Joel Morneault; and his mother-in-law Jeannette Pelletier.
Mark will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity, hard work, faith, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and community. He gave so much of himself to the people around him and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, love, and service. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Christian Thomas and his team at New England Cancer Specialists for their professional care, compassion, and support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, October 12, 2026, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. There will be no visitation hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of Mark’s family.
