Obituary
Van Buren--- Marlene M. Cormier, 70, away peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2016, following a long illness. She was born February 10, 1946 in Van Buren, a daughter of Corinne (Chasse) Cormier and the late Percy Cormier.
Marlene last worked with L'Acadie and Borderview Nursing Home for several years before becoming ill. In her earlier years, she enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling with her husband and friends.
She is survived by: her devoted husband, Claude Cormier of Van Buren; her mother of Van Buren; one son, Mark Cormier and his wife Linda of Ohio; one grandson, Kyle; two sisters, Joyce Cormier and Linda Caron, both of Van Buren; two brothers, Rick and Larry Cormier of Grand Isle; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, Marlene is predeceased by her son Scott Cormier in 2012, her brothers, Jerry, Daniel, Rodney, James and Carl, and one sister, Jacqueline Chamberlain
