IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha A.
Guerrette
May 30, 1928 – June 7, 2021
Martha (Albert) Guerrette, 93, passed away on June 7, 2021 in Dover, New Hampshire surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 30, 1928, in St. David, the daughter of the late Eloi and Leonie (Dufour) Albert.
Martha is survived by her husband of 68 years, Antoine Guerrette of Dover, New Hampshire; 4 children, Ann and husband Steve Burns of Bar Harbor, Luke and wife Gail of Wells, Susan and husband David Stadvec of Rochester, New Hampshire and Tom of Levant; 7 grandchildren, Kristin Cook (Kevin) of Williston, Vermont, Julie McFarland (Jason) of Scarborough, Jonathan (Tanille) of Pullman, Washington, Janna Stadvec (Connor) of Weare, New Hampshire, Emily Stadvec of Whitefish, Montana, Matthew Guerrette of Bangor and Nicholas Guerrette of Levant; 5 great grandchildren, Owen, Benjamin, Hadley, Parker and Huxley. Also surviving Martha is her sister, Cecile Guerrette of Houlton, her brother-in-law J. Chanel Guerrette (Carlene) of Barefoot Bay, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Family was of utmost importance to Martha. She enjoyed cooking / baking for family gatherings – the more the merrier. Martha's commitment to her family was strengthened by her strong Catholic faith and pride in her Acadian heritage. At her core, Martha was kind, compassionate, and giving. She was an enthusiastic volunteer, devoting immeasurable time to the St. David Parish, Ladies of St. Anne, Madawaska Historical Society, class reunions, Acadian family reunions, 4-H Clubs and others.
Martha touched the lives of each person she met. She made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. She was a wonderful wife, who always put family first; an amazing mother, who never missed events and encouraged her children to be their best; a proud grandmother, who had a special bond with each grandchild; and a friend to all. She will be greatly missed, but the memories will always be treasured.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Atria Senior Living and Home Instead in Kennebunk and The Residence at Silver Square in Dover, New Hampshire and Amedisys / Hospice of Somersworth, New Hampshire who provided support to Martha and the family over the past two years; we are profoundly grateful.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Saint David Church in St. David. Family and friends may offer their condolences on July 13, from 6-8 p.m., at Lajoie Funeral Home, Madawaska. Interment will follow the Mass at the St. David Cemetery.
