Van Buren--- Martha D. Parent, 66, peacefully entered into Eternal Life March 1, 2025, and into the waiting arms of her parents, following a brief stay at Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle. She was born June 25, 1958 in Van Buren, a daughter of the late Martin and Lorette (Corbin) Parent.

Martha was a devout Catholic and cherished taking part in the weekly Mass at the nursing home. A longtime resident of Borderview Rehab and Living Center, she would "adopt" some of the older residents as her own and cherish being able to care for them.  She loved busying her hands with word search puzzles and various activities at the nursing home. Martha loved when her family visited and brought her special treats

She is survived by two siblings, John (Muriel) Parent and Martine St. Pierre, all of Van Buren; a sister-in-law, Susan Parent; a nephew, Jason Parent; and nieces, Kristy (Brian)Dube and Michelle (Carl) Flynn; and several great nieces and nephews, Chris, Kallee, Abby, Alec, and Adam.

Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Donald "Barnes" Parent, a brother-in-law, Richard St. Pierre, and family friend, Wendell Bourgoin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, Main St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
