IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martin
Nadeau
April 24, 1928 – February 28, 2021
Madawaska-- It is with great sadness that Martin Nadeau passed away peacefully at a Frenchville health care facility on February 28, 2021 at the age of 92. He was born in Baker Lake, NB, Canada on April 24, 1928, the son of Hypolite Nadeau and Malvina Lang Nadeau.
He worked at Fraser Papers for thirty-three years where he started as a spare and worked his way up to foreman. He was a 3 rd degree Knights of Columbus member. After retirement, he and his wife spent twenty-one years in Florida as snowbirds, where he spent time golfing and perusing flea markets.
A quiet, gentle soul, he was an avid gardener, loved nature, and was a master fixer-upper. His family was his pride and joy, and his faith in God steered him in every aspect of his life.
Martin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernadette (Pinette) Nadeau; six children, daughter Denise Arvai and husband James, son Marc and wife Jocelyn, daughter Louise, son Jean and wife Sharon, daughter Lynn Oakes and husband Daniel, and daughter Monique. He is survived by twenty-five grandchildren: Peter, Alan, Amanda, Sarah, Jamie, Nicholas, Courtney, Jacob, Joseph, Eben, Samantha, Hannah, Andrew, Elise, Sophie, Annie, Megan, Nathan, Nichole, Natalie, Andrew, Adam, Lee, Chantel, and Megan. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Adeline (Damase) Lang, Jeannine (Roger) Caron, and Therese (Roland) Gravel. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Suzanne, and nine siblings.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Northern Light Hospice and to the staff at St. Joseph's Memory Care for the compassionate care given to Martin during his time there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Notre Dame du Mont Carmel. Due to the current pandemic, funeral services will be held at a later date in the summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
