Fort Kent—Mary D. Mikolajczak, 94, died September 22, 2021 in Fort Kent, and was born on January 27, 1927 in Germany.

Mom immigrated to the United State after WWll as a war bride. A few years later she became a US citizen, forever after passionately exercising her right to vote and freely express her opinions without fear.

After a 30 year career in Nursing with the Veterans Administration. Mom retired and settled in Surfside Beach, SC. There she developed her quilting skills, knitting prowess ad theatrical muse.

When her husband died she moved to Fort Kent to be closer to her daughter. Her son and a grandson has predeceased her. Shes survived by two daughter and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mom's special smile, generous heart and unique sense of style will be missed.
