Fort Kent—Maureen P. Roy, 93, died peacefully on April 9, 2022, at a Fort Kent assisted living facility. She was born in Frenchville on March 1, 1929, daughter of Alphee and Laura (Cyr) Daigle.

Maureen served in the education system for a time, though she was known for much more than her job title within her community. She had a passion for her Lord and helping others come to know Him, leaving behind a legacy of family, faith, and neighborly love.

She is survived by her children, Mark and his wife Ruth (Nadeau) of Fort Kent, Elaine and her husband A. Mike Nadeau of Fort Kent, Jim and his wife Donna (Thibeault) of Standish, Karen Roy of Keeseville, NY; daughter in-law, Donna (Rossignol) Roy of Fort Kent; 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Hercules; Maureen is predeceased by an infant son, Jonathan; son, Ken Roy; 2 sisters, Dora and Verly; 5 brothers, Ferdinand, Carl, Eudore, Waldo, and Gerald.

In following with the familys wishes, a graveside service will be held at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 10am for family, relatives and close friends. Services are in the care of Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home of Fort Kent.
